Portfolio

This is the portfolio of UX Designer Yvonne Ingles. I am a graduate of the Information School at the University of Washington. Here you can view some of my work and my thought process.

As a content strategist, I understand uncovering problems and solving them are only a part of the bigger picture. Building empathy with users, and creating meaningful relationships with partners and my team is the key to creating the best experiences.

Sign Up Page

One of my first projects at Get Schooled was to update the sign up page. This project was a great introduction into the Get Schooled audience, the custom CMS and the content files available to the team.

Self Care Badge

I developed the Self Care Badge from start to finish. A “badge” consists of 6 to 10 pieces of content pieces around a general topic. This badge was in partnership with USC and CSUDH for first-year students at CSUDH. The badge was part of a series of other badges, that when completed would earn students entries for a scholarship.

Capstone: SightLife Data

I was the designer for my team's capstone sponsored project with SightLife. I worked closely with the developers on the team to develop an interactive infographic that helped SightLife turn their raw data into an informative user centered website. We worked through several iterations based on our sponsor's goals, needs, and timeline to deliver a site that will be used in convincing policymakers.

Cat Lounge case study

I took a course focused on content strategy where we applied the fundamentals on a website. At the end of the quarter each of us focused on a content section we suggested for improvement. I chose to redesign the membership table that was added to the website right before the quarter ended.

Immigration Infographic

I took a visual information design course and as my topic of focus, I chose US Naturalizations in 2014. Each week we would have a different element of the infographic to develop. We drew inspiration from examples provided by our professor, and gave and received feedback from classmates.

Washington Compare Process Book

This is the design process book for the design thinking course I took. This book looks at the problem we chose to look at (transferring is hard because of course equivalency between schools) and the solution we designed (course equivalency web app).
